"A Shared Space" opened on March 6th 2020 and was then shut down like everything else due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, I was unable to attend the launch of my show after having come into contact with a person (who has thankfully since recovered!) who had the corona virus and so I self isolated for 2 weeks and did not catch the virus....4 months later my exhibition will reopen on July 20th and will run until the end of August. Many thanks to Sean Walsh and the Ballina Arts Centre for giving me and my work a second chance I am beyond grateful!!"
Artist Fiona Cawley’s Solo Show 'A Shared Space' presents a series of paintings exploring themes such as human and animal relationships, their coexistence and the impact of the man-made on the environment. Through the intertwining of expressive painting and dramatic subject matter the artist paints fictional scenes based on memory and the imagination depicting interiors and landscapes populated by creatures such as birds in flight, running deer and the female figure. Originally a native of Ballina the artist now lives and works full time as a painter in Co. Galway. FREE Admission. ALL Welcome. 22 paintings in the exhibition, here's SOME of them.......
